Precautions for purchase

Agricultural machinery serves as a valuable assistant in agricultural production and in achieving prosperity,

It is not only important to know how to purchase and maintain machinery, but also crucial to operate, use, and care for it correctly.

According to Article 23 of the "Regulations on the Responsibilities for Repair, Replacement, and Return of Agricultural Machinery Products", any mechanical failure caused by personal reasons cannot be covered by the "three guarantees". Therefore, machine operators are reminded of the following four points:

1. Carefully read the mechanical instruction manual, grasp the structure and performance, and avoid swallowing the manual whole, being self-righteous, and acting as a "know-it-all".

Secondly, when operating machinery, one must follow the operating procedures, and when performing maintenance, one must pay attention to methods. Sloppiness and haphazardness are strictly prohibited, and one should not fiddle around aimlessly.

Thirdly, agricultural machinery has a limited capacity, and there are regulations on the speed of heavy-load vehicles. It is crucial to avoid the mistake of "using a small horse to pull a large cart" and not to be tempted by petty gains and lose big ones.

Fourth, it is absolutely forbidden to operate machinery that is malfunctioning. Once any issues with the machinery are identified, operation must be stopped immediately, and prompt maintenance and upkeep must be carried out.

Usage in summer

In summer, when temperatures are high and tractors operate in such an environment, special attention should be paid to the following issues.

1. Handle "boiling over" cautiously. When the cooling water "boils over", handle it cautiously. The correct method is to run the engine at medium speed, open the radiator cap, release the hot gas, and slowly add cold water after the temperature has cooled down. When opening the radiator cap, the operator should stand in the upwind position and avoid facing the water filling port to avoid being burned by the high-temperature water vapor sprayed out.

2. Keep the cooling system clean. Before the arrival of summer, it is necessary to thoroughly clean and descale the cooling system to ensure smooth flow of water through the water pump and radiator pipes, thereby guaranteeing normal circulation of cooling water. Additionally, any weeds or other debris adhering to the surface of the radiator should be promptly removed.

3. Water leakage in the cooling system often occurs at the pump shaft sleeve. At this time, tighten the water seal gland nut properly. If it is ineffective, it indicates that the packing has lost its effectiveness and should be replaced in time. The packing can be made by winding asbestos rope coated with graphite powder.

4. Pay attention to the tension of the belt. If the fan belt is too loose, it is prone to slipping, causing the fan and water pump speeds to decrease, resulting in insufficient airflow. If the fan belt is too tight, the bearing load will be excessive, leading to increased wear and power consumption. The general requirement is: when pressing the middle of the belt with your thumb, the amount of belt sag should be within the range of 10mm to 15mm. If it is too loose or too tight, it should be adjusted promptly.

5. Proper use of temperature regulating devices. There are two types of temperature regulating devices: automatic (such as thermostats) and manual (such as heat shields and louvers). Some drivers believe that in hot summer weather, the lower the water temperature, the better, and often remove the thermostat. Doing so will greatly prolong the engine's warm-up time when starting a cold car, accelerating the wear of parts. Therefore, the thermostat should not be removed even in summer. Heat shields and louvers are used to adjust the air volume passing through the radiator. In summer, heat shields are generally not needed, and louvers should also be placed in the fully open position.

6. Proper selection of fuel: Due to high summer temperatures, diesel with a higher freezing point can be used, and the correctness of the fuel supply advance angle must be ensured. Additionally, special attention should be paid to preventing oil leaks in the fuel supply system, as oil leaks not only result in fuel waste but may also cause fires. Besides diesel, lubricating oil and grease should also be selected according to the summer grades as specified. Some tractors are equipped with oil temperature reversing valves, which should be turned to the position that directs the engine oil to the engine oil radiator during seasonal maintenance.

7. Pay attention to the maintenance of the battery. In summer, the water in the battery electrolyte is prone to evaporation, so special attention should be paid to checking the battery electrolyte level. The normal electrolyte level should be 10mm to 15mm higher than the plates. The electrolyte density of the battery should be adjusted to be lower as required. The vent hole on the filler cap should be kept clear. Batteries that are not in use temporarily should be stored in a cool and ventilated place.

8. Fuel vapor lock prevention: The higher the temperature, the faster the evaporation, making it easier for vapor lock to form in the fuel circuit. Therefore, it is necessary to clean the fuel filter in time during summer to keep the fuel circuit unobstructed. When driving, a wet cloth can be placed over the fuel pump and watered regularly to keep it moist, reducing the occurrence of vapor lock. Once vapor lock occurs in the fuel system, the vehicle should be stopped immediately to cool down, and the fuel circuit should be filled with fuel using the hand pump.

9. Prevent engine detonation. Engine detonation caused by overheating can increase the wear on the upper part of the cylinder by 3 to 5 times. Therefore, it is necessary to thoroughly remove carbon deposits from the combustion chamber, valve heads, and other areas; check and adjust the fuel supply quantity and timing to prevent detonation.
